Intercultural Teams

Overview
This program is designed for anyone whose work brings them directly into contact with other cultures on a regular basis. Besides an increased awareness for cultural differences the program is offering practical tools for the daily work in multicultural work situations.

Objectives

  • to develop knowledge and understanding about the basic drivers behind how cultural differences most often express themselves at work
  • to develop understanding and respect for differences in style and approach and to increase the ability to manage ambiguity in the work environment.
  • to develop skills in diagnosing and reconciling cultural differences to improve key aspects of working across cultures – in particular in the areas of communication, running effective cross-cultural meetings, motivating and influencing an international audience
  • to develop a team and organizational culture able to discuss and resolve cultural differences openly, using a value free vocabulary and without destructive stereotyping

Other requirements
Participants should ideally already have some exposure to the international / cross cultural environment or be about to take up a role where this will be an element of their responsibilities

Target Group
For all who work international. Managers directly managing cross cultural teams or project groups. People who regularly travel to other countries on business. International team members or those with a manager or subordinate from another culture. Those giving service or technical support to customers from several counties. People coordinating or developing policies for international activities

Method/Format
The seminar will be conducted through a mix of presentations,
experiential learning exercises and work related case studies.

Number of participants Max 16.

1 day awareness for the differences
2 days awareness for the differences and how to bridge them
